Kendrick Perkins picks Suns to get upset in first round just days after he says they should be West favorites

FS1 analyst Skip Bayless picked the Phoenix Suns to win the Western Conference. Another commentator does not have the Suns winning their first-round series against the Los Angeles Clippers.

ESPN commentator and NBA champion Kendrick Perkins – who retired from the NBA after the 2017-18 season and now appears on ESPN’s ‘First Take and ‘NBA Today,’ among other programs – was asked about his hot take for the postseason by ESPN’s Malika Andrews. He picked the Suns to fall to the Clippers.

“I got the Clippers beating the Suns,” Perkins said. “It don’t get no spicier than that.”

Perkins alluded to Los Angeles’ depth at wing as the reason he picked them to win the series.

However, it is hard to tell if Perkins is truly sticking with his pick or just saying what will get audiences riled up. Just days ago, Perkins said on ‘First Take’ the Suns should be the favorite to win the Western Conference, though he also said he was picking the Lakers to win the conference.

A month before that, he said he did not believe the Suns had enough depth to win the title.

It is hard to predict anything in this postseason, especially since the Western Conference has many teams who are close in terms of record. But stick to your pick, Perk.
